Another vote for keeping Kaineng to be kept the way it is please, the majority of people I have spoken with agree that it looks much more elegant with an evening quality then it would with its dull "daylight" look.

Also as someone else said earlier, if ANET should decorate something during the events, then it should be Shing Jea dont see why Kaineng should be effected.

I hope they keep the decorations up...Kaineng looks so much better. It looks blah without them. I love looking at the little plants on the railings and the fountain...so much more eye-catching then boring plain Kaineng.

Okay people, this calls for a party:

"Enjoying the Night Life While It Lasts" party at Kaineng Center International Districts, 11PM to Midnight (Eastern USA time), May 13th, and every night until the new build reverts things (May 14th?); or they decide to keep the night lighting, they can remove the decorations, if that is possible, please.

Party will be along the water front, so bring your tonics, drinks and sweets and just enjoy the atmosphere! Hope to see some of you there!

Hopefully some of you European or Asian time zone players can get together at a time more convenient for you and have a party as well.

what about having a natural ingame clock system with a day and night system in towns and outposts?

some of the Maguuma Jungle outposts with the natural plant lights would make lovely nighttime places

Unfortunatelly, most environmental shadows in the game are hard-drawed into scenarios, so they can't be dinamycally changed, and making nightime versions for them would be... well... there are LOTS of areas!

But for Towns it would be nice, all you need is using a nightime sky already used in an area of the region, draw some shadows here and there, and keep everything else the same.
For all areas would be a hell of a job, but just for the open sky outpost it shouldn't be so time consuming.

day/night cycles would be good (for gw2)

they could increase the spawns of enemies at night, more chests during the day, etc

as well as in an ingame clock, game time, that can be used for events so theres no longer any confusion over timezones

I think a Day/Night cycle is way to much to ask for GW1 at this point. Though I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask they keep KC actually looking nice instead of dirty. Especially since it's now award winningly pretty, which is something I would never have thought possible for KC.

And that party on the boardwalk sounds really nice actually, maybe that should be a site for a midsummers festival this year (if they keep it that way).

I just wish I hadn't used up all my sparklers last weekend. I could have handed those out then have everyone use them at midnight. Would have been neat!

OK, that makes Lonesamurai a possible show and I've gotten the word out to some friends, so I just need to go collect a few things and will be all set for tonight's party.

No, no, the party is tonight, the 13th! They'll probably reset the graphics on the 14th if they release the skill updates, so we have to party tonight while it is still dark.

Aww, sorry to hear that it's being changed back. :/ It really does look so nice like this. Probably draws more player traffic to Kaineng, too.

I will let them know again how you all feel.
Make it daytime during events? Or remove the dragon decorations, but leave it night-time, then put the decorations back up during events?

Great idea for GW2. That would be really cool, and make playing more interesting. Of course, there are all the technicalities about how it would work, how players would be able to play day and night so it would be fair, players in different time zones, etc.

So I really don't think it'll happen. :/

And I can't believe there are people who want Anet to put this stuff in GW1, lol.

Love Kaineng in dark, MUCH MUCH better.

I say, keep it dark forever, yeh remove the dragon stuff if you must but please keep the sweet looks the town has now.

One thing i like to point out, yes kaineng gets a redecoration when a specific event is on, but the events are always in the monastery, there is nothing happening in kaineng and with that in mind it seems a good idea to just keep the town as it is now, people love the place now and it might even come back as a trading outpost, something which would be a load better then going to kamadan.

Do as you wish anet, but i really hope you keep the town in night time, that would rock.

I'm all for Guild Wars 2 having night and day, as long as the missions automatically change the look of the mission to the appropriate time. (Riverside Province needs to be nighttime for example.)
